Stover, our company has evolved over the years to become a leader in the scrap recycle industry. With over 40 years of experience, we have built a reputation for excellence, integrity, and a strong commitment to establishing and maintaining relationships.

Our Founding

Joe Stover began his journey in the scrap metal industry by handling scrap metal in the back of his pickup truck. This humble start laid the foundation for what would become a successful entrepreneurial venture. In 1988, Joe bought his first scrap metal yard in York, Pennsylvania, marking the beginning of his foray into the scrap recycling industry. The company's reputation grew, and by the late 1990s, it was clear that Joe's vision was to serve the secondary fiber market on an industrial scale. Since then, First Capital Fibers, Inc. has expanded to operate out of two locations combined, spanning over 60,000 square feet of processing and warehousing space in York, Pennsylvania.

Our Services

As a full-service scrap recycler, we offer a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of our customers. Our services include:

• Material Processing: We process scrap paper, metal, and plastic to create usable by-products.
• Shredding and Destruction: We provide document shredding and destruction services to ensure the secure destruction of sensitive materials.
• Product Destruction: Our destruction services include the destruction of products, reducing the risk of contamination and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Recycling: We offer metal recycling services, processing ferrous and non-ferrous materials. We also provide plastic recycling services, separating and processing plastics to create new products.

Facilities and Equipment

Our state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with advanced processing equipment, including an industrial shredder, balers, guillotine knives, forklifts, roll clamps, and skid steerers. We also maintain a state-certified 120,000-pound capacity truck scale and have nine loading docks for receiving and shipping. Our rail spur allows for efficient transportation and storage of materials.

We have also donated holiday meals to families in need, rebuilt houses in Biloxi, Mississippi, and delivered medication to Guatemala.
